Happy Valentine's Day...a day late! V-Day at our house wasn't really anything too special. In fact, Devin and I didn't even go on a date. And we're not really planning to go on a V-Day date. That's ok though...Devin wrote me a song :). It wasn't actually intended to be for Valentine's Day, but he gave himself a deadline for finishing the rough draft by Valentine's Day as my gift :). He's so sweet. He's been working on it for a long time actually. He doesn't want to post it online yet, until he's done some more editing and mixing on it, but rest assured, once he deems it ready I will post it for all to hear! It's pretty awesome...and he did all the writing, played all the instruments, recorded it himself, and mixed it himself. Isn't he talented?!? I think so. I guess you all will have to hear the song first before you can make that statement...but trust me :).
Other than that, this is really the only other sign of Valentine's Day at our house:
I made these window hearts a couple weeks ago. I got the original idea from NieNie, who posted a link to this Martha Stewart tutorial...super easy, but I did ruin my ironing board cover by getting red wax on it :(. I think they're so cute! I usually don't decorate at all for Valentine's Day, but something possessed me this year, and I think they're so fun and subtle. You can see them from outside too, and sometimes when the light is reflecting right they make hearts on the walls inside the house :).
This was the best V-Day pic I could muster of Rhys...toddlers aren't very cooperative when it comes to posing for pictures. He's still a cutie though...and he's holding the cat stuffed animal that was a Valentine's Day gift from me to Devin sometime while we were dating/engaged.
Anyway, hope your Valentine's Day was lover-ly!
